| One of your very first pictures just seconds old! |
Adeline,
My sweet (baby) girl. How on earth are you TWO YEARS OLD already?! Didn't I just have you? Yikes! In full disclosure, I planned to keep writing your monthly updates from your first birthday until now, but life just got in the way. Our days are non-stop and we are always on the go! Add to that us building a house and moving, it's been hectic. I hope you'll forgive me!
You have grown so much in the past year. You've gone from being a little baby, to a toddler, and now I feel like you are a little girl. On your first birthday you weren't even walking (you didn't do that until 14.5 months), but when you started walking there was no stopping you. Your language has exploded since about 20 months, and now you put 2 and 3 word sentences together. You have the cutest little voice and I adore hearing you talk (and breathe!). You are SO smart and know all of your colors (you still get pink and purple confused), can count 1..2..3..., and you are amazing with direction. Any time we pass the Ramos' house you shout, "Luke! House!". You know where we live and say, "Home!" if we pass by.
I think we are finally starting to turn the corner in terms of whining and tantrums. You were very vocal from 1-2 years old, but now that you've found your words things have definitely improved. You are gem when you are alone, so I do have to say that some of the crying is due to Reese and the fact that you two cannot leave one another alone and fight over every.single.thing. It could be a dirty sock, but if one of you has it, then the other one wants it. Nanny says that you two have turned into twins over night, and I have to agree. We have to get you girls the exact same thing or the other one wants it.
You are extremely strong willed, which is a trait that you and Reese share, as do your daddy and I, so that makes for interesting power struggles. You can be naughty and do the opposite thing that I ask of you, and you do run away in parking lots constantly. You certainly keep me on my toes. As a matter of fact, I just had daddy switch your car seat to my side of the car for this exact reason.
You are still definitely a mama's girl, but love your daddy too! I think Reese favors daddy more because when you were born he became her buddy while I cared for you. I secretly hope that you always want Mama. ;-)
You adore your Nanny and had your first sleepover there when you were about 18 months old. I love that you and Reese love going there to visit! I know you'll have fond memories of the time you spend together. Nanny even has two car seats for you girls in her car!
Your favorite things to do are to play with Reese, love on Maisy, play with your babies, Legos (Eggos!) as you call them, dress up like Princess Anna, and to play outside. We had such an incredibly long winter, so now that the nicer weather is here, all you want to do is play outside. Fine by me!
You are doing great in play care at the gym- we go 3/4 times per week, and you started swim lessons again this spring. You love the water, and get so excited when it's time to go to "kick kick" (what you call swim class). We just signed you up for dance class yesterday, and will start in September. I can't hardly wait to see you dressed up in your first pair of ballet slippers and leotard!

Favorite Toys: You love your babies, and have started wanting them in your crib when you sleep, in addition to your two lovey's and binky. You also love Legos and dressing up in your Princess Anna gown.
Favorite Past Time: You love being outside, hanging with Reese, and eating. Ha! You seriously LOVE food. Nanny is also high on your list of Favorite Things. Cailou is your favorite cartoon, with Frozen and Despicable Me as your favorite movies.
Cries: When you're not getting your way, when you are fighting with Reese, or when you are truly in pain.
Communication: You're language is amazing. You can basically repeat anything we say, and can have conversations with us. You are starting to string together 2 and 3 words to make sentences, and are comfortable with lots of phrases. You are starting to sing words to songs which is the cutest thing ever. Some of your favorite songs are "All About the Bass" by Meghan Trainor, Katy Perry's "ROAR", Taylor Swift's "Shake It Off", and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk". Totally all kid appropriate songs. ;-)
Bedtime/Nap time: You are napping around 12:30/1pm and sleep mostly for 2.5/ sometimes 3 hours. You still randomly have your nights where you wake up crying here and there, but that's mostly when you are sick or cutting those big bad molars (1 down, 3 to go). Bedtime has been a bit of an adjustment now that you are sharing a room with Reese, but you two typically go down around 7pm. You guys are all over the map with wake up times, sometimes it can be 5am (dread!!!!) and sometimes it can be 7am. I would say on average it's 6am. I would love love love to see 7am consistently, but who knows if that will happen ever.
Foods: You are an awesome eater for the most part. You'll try most anything, but do have your favorites. You love going to dinner as a family at Chipolte--- "Rice and Beans!".
You still will drink milk from a sippy twice a day- in the morning when you wake up and at night during dinner/before bed.
Happy 2 years, sweet girl! I love you to the moon and back!!
