Yesterday was a big day as it was my first doctors appointment. I decided to change practices after a bunch of post partum issues that I had with Reese, and my new doctor is in the city. It's definitely a little nerve wracking having to schedule appointments around rush hour traffic and Reese's schedule, but we'll make due.
At my appointment we met with the nurse, went through all of our medical history, and discussed how their practice operates. Since they were a little unsure of my due date, I had a dating ultrasound after my exam/pap. The nurse had tried to find the babies HB with the doppler, and couldn't but told me not to worry-- that it still could be too early. I was so thankful to be getting an ultrasound! Todd and I both loved my new doctor.
As soon as we got into the ultrasound room and the tech put the wand on my belly, I immediately saw something there, and the tech said that she could see the little flickering hearbeat. She zoomed in, and we got to see the little nugget's heart fluttering away at 163 bpm. All was well! Based on measurements, it put me a few days ahead of what I thought, at 8 weeks 1 day. Due date is April 16th (Todd's late grandfather's birthday).
Here's the little nugget:
