Letters to Emerson- Eleven Months

Emerson 11 Month Stats:

Weight: No appointment this month, but on our home scale you are 21/22lbs.

Height: Not sure but my guess would be 29"

Clothing: 9-12 months, 12 months, and some 12-18 month clothes. Still seem to have shorter legs than your sisters do, so you can definitely wear smaller pant sizes than tops. This proves to be challenging with footed pajamas because one size is too small for your chubby thighs, but the other is too long and you can't crawl/walk in.

Diapers: Size 4.

Size Shoe: 2.5, still fit into 3-6 month baby shoes. Smallest feet ever.

Favorite Toys: Push walker, the regular walker- you like to go in it and push it down the hallway, balls, remotes, cords, and stuffed animals/babies.

Favorite Past Time:  You love to dance to Baby Shark. Your favorite (and only!) show you'll watch is Little Baby Bum's Nursery Rhymes on Netflix. You adore your big sisters and are most happy crawling around playing with them. You are obsessed with the cat, Maisy, and squeal in excitement each and every time you see her! This month you have really taken an interest in stuffed animals, baby dolls, and anything soft and cozy. You lay your head against whatever soft object it may be, and we say "Niiiiice, Emerson!", and you pat it. So cute and incredibly sweet.

Communication: You can say Mama and Dada.

Cries: Only when tired, or needs something.

Schedule/Bedtime/Nap time:

6isham wake up, bottle.
7/7:30am breakfast
9am 2oz bottle, then down for nap (you're not hungry, but the bottle puts you to sleep). Nap usually lasts around 90 mins.
11:30am/ noon- 6oz bottle
You'll eat lunch if I am eating in front of you- you will eat anything I give you and are not picky whatsoever.
Nap at 1 for another 90 mins or so.
3pm- 6oz bottle
5pm- solids
6/6:30pm- 6oz bottle and lights out

Foods: Only 4 bottles now, 6oz each, and breakfast/lunch/dinner. We are starting the transition from formula to almond milk. We will start by doing 2oz almond milk and 4 oz formula, then 4oz almond milk, 2 oz formula, etc.  I have decided to give you MALK which is a newer brand but the ingredients are awesome- just 3 things- filtered water, sprouted almonds, and Himalayan salt. It has the highest fat and protein out of any almond milk that's on the market, which is super important for growing babies. You typically have a waffle and/or dry cheerios with 1/2 of a banana or strawberries for breakfast.  You love scrambled eggs when I make them for myself late morning (as your lunch), and whatever we are having for dinner you eat. If we are on the go for lunch, which is most days, I'll give you a pouch, some crackers, puffs, or creamies. You love green beans, pasta, broccoli, chicken, steak, corn, rice, etc. You always want dessert when your sisters have it. You are a little chunk, and we love it!

Worth Mentioning:

This month has proven that you are 99% of the time sleeping through the night each night! We are so thankful for this. We have done nothing differently with the exception of putting a blanket in your crib, which for the record has nothing to do with you sleeping through the night. Something just clicked for you.

You, my dear, have major separation anxiety. Like, I cannot even leave the room or walk away without you crying if someone else happens to be at the house or if we are at a social gathering.  If it's just you and I and you can't see me, you'll whine, or come find me. I cannot go to the bathroom alone. You want to be held a lot. Like way more than I remember your big sisters wanting to be held.

Milestones:

- DST was on 11/4- and it took about 2 weeks to get you back on track to your 6/6:30 wake up time. 5/5:30 was brutal.
- 11/11 was your cousin Aidan's Baptism. You did so good!

- You started shaking head NO on 11/14- you think it's so funny. The best part is it's not always in the correct context which makes it funny.
- You haven't quite gotten the sign language down for "more" or "all done" just yet, however you clap for more while in your highchair.
- On 11/18 You got your second tooth (on the bottom). By now both of your sisters had close to 8 teeth each. You are the slowest to get teeth.
- On 11/20 You had allergy testing done. We wanted to be certain that you didn't have an underlying allergy. You still get red under your eyes for no reason at all (although I notice it most after you have a bottle which could be from the sucking, and after you cough). They tested you for milk, egg, peanut, tree nut, shellfish, and dust. You tolerated all 6 things, and aren't allergic to any of them as of now! Your intolerance to dairy/soy is just a GI issue at this point. The allergist attributed your red eyes to blood flow under your eyes, and your skin being thin there.
