Letters to Reese- Three Months

Reese,

Baby girl, you turned 3 months old on October, 18th 2011! How on earth are you a quarter of a year already? Time is flying and I'd like it to slow down.  You have really been a lot of fun this month, and are showing your awesome personality.  You are such a HAPPY baby! You very rarely cry; only when you need something (to eat, to be changed, or if you're tired). Daddy and I fall more in love with you each day!

This past month has definitely been a little tougher on Mommy with all of the issues with mommy's supply, your nursing, and gaining weight.  We've had some big changes, and you are now only nursing in the morning (and sometimes at night).  This makes me very sad, but I know that it's what's best for you and for your growing! You were taking 4 oz bottles about 6 or 7 times per day, but we just upped your serving size to 5oz (per your Pedi) and you're doing great.  You're still a great sleeper, going at least 9 hours consecutively at night.  We're trying to push back your bedtime because if you had it your way, you'd be asleep at 530pm for the night each night.  When we've let you do that, you're pretty much up for the day at 3:45am, and that just doesn't cut it, Baby Girl. ;-)

Your schedule has changed a bit, too.  You have started to get into a routine of napping though, and aren't just taking 20 minute cat naps anymore.  You'll typically be good for an hour to an hour and a half after a bottle before you need to sleep.  For example, if you had a bottle at 10am, you'll go down for a nap (either in your swing, lamb seat, or cars seat) at 11 or 1130am.  You'll sleep for about 40 minutes, sometimes longer.  You're longest nap is typically in the afternoon.  Some days you'll give us 2 hours!  Daddy and I figured that you should start sleeping in your crib at night and not relying on the swing to put you to sleep, so we've transitioned you to your crib.  This deserves a separate post in itself, which I will do soon, but to sum it up- you are sleeping in your crib at night and going to sleep without the help of the swing.  We're so proud of you.

This month you've had some more firsts, these include rolling from belly to back, and from back to belly, in addition to grabbing for things and putting them in your mouth.

Daddy and I love you more and more each day and are so lucky to be your parents!

Love, Mommy

Notice you're newly embroidered pillow sham! ;-)

Reese's Three Month Stats:

Weight: 12 pounds 1 ounce (45th percentile)
Height: 24 inches (not sure of the percentile)
Clothing: 0-3, some 0-3 sleepers are getting too snug for the length. We call you our long and lean baby girl. 3-6 things that I bought for you to wear around Halloween are still HUGE- Mommy fail!
Diapers: Size One. We have one huge box of 234 diapers left, and after that I think we'll switch you to size 2, but for now size 1's are perfect.
Favorite Toys: Bouncer Seat, Baby Gym, Car Seat Toys. You are also loving this little ball that I got for you.
Favorite Past time: Bath Time, Getting your diaper changed and getting dressed (love that you love this still!), staring contests with mommy, walking around with daddy, going for walks in your stroller, being in you're bjorn carrier, and being out and about.  You are so much fun in the Mommy and Me class at Barre N9ne.
Communication: Smiles, and coos. You just started squealing/yelling.  You only do this when Daddy or I are having a long conversation with you.  You get so excited, and it's the cutest thing ever!
Cries: When hungry, tired, or needs a diaper change.  You've also started to develop a bit of stranger anxiety.  You don't like "strangers" to hold you, and really are only content with mommy, daddy, nana, and nonna holding you.
Bedtime: Around 6pm the last week, but we're trying to push it back to 7-8pm.
Food: Breast milk once a day, and formula bottles the rest of the day.

Please excuse your Mama's appearance, Reesey! I was feeling under the weather! :-(
Daddy's girl!
